Can you, in 1 sentence, explain the difference between Liberalism and Conservatism?
To both young and old. To those who served in combat and those who served in support roles. To those who went overseas and those who stayed behind. To fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, and sons and daughter:
Thank You for Your Service to Our Nation.
More allegations of sexual misconduct (maybe not technically sexual harassment because she was not an employee at the time, I don’t know) have popped onto the scene. This time a woman named Sharon Bialek accused Cain of putting his hand under her skirt, trying to touch her genitals, and pushing her head towards his lap.
But it’s OK, because she is “trying to help Herman Cain unseat Obama”… huh?? According to CBS News, (story here) Ms. Bialek said the following on the CBS’ The Early Show:
November 8, 2011 7:48 AMSharon Bialek insisted Tuesday that her explosive allegation of Herman Cain’s sexual entitlement is true and she came forward with her story from 1997 because she wanted to help the Republican candidate in his bid to unseat President Obama.“I actually did it because I wanted to help him. I wanted to give him a platform to come clean, to tell the truth,” Bialek said on CBS’ The Early Show.
“And he still hasn’t done it and it’s really a shame because he could have,” she said.
Hmmm, I have a hard time believing that this woman came forward with her attorney, Gloria Allred — who some claim is a publicity hound — in order to help Herman Cain. Anyone else believe that claim? Anyone?
In the meantime, I have a Facebook “friend” who put this up on her wall (click on image to read it):
I wanted to respond so badly, but I am, by nature, not a confrontational person. I decided I’d respond this way so as not to directly hurt the woman’s feeling. Anyhoo, I wanted to say:
I would never say something like that last remark to an acquaintance in person. Not even to a remote Facebook friend. You see, even though we have wildly different opinions about politics and society, I do like her. She’s very talented, smart, and affable. She’s just got a different opinion about reality
